orkshop on "Climate Friendly
Agriculture and Innovative Methodologies" organized by Turkish Ministry of
Food Agriculture and Livestock and Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) was
held in International Agricultural Research and Training Center (IARTC) located
in İzmir between 1-3 November 2017. 54 experts from Bulgaria, Check Republic,
Russia, Spain, Ukraine, FAO Central Asia Sub-Regional Office, ICARDA, Our
Directorate and related research institutes, Ankara University, Atatürk
University, Boğaziçi University and Çukurova University participated to the workshop.
During the workshop, subjects on
water and soil management for food safety and food access, climate change
effects to Turkey, precision farming practices, agro-ecological risks related
to soil water balance, new water use efficiency technologies for climate change
adaptation, sustainable soil management strategies for Turkey, socio-economic
effects of climate change on agriculture, soil carbon losses in terms of
climate change and global warming, farming tools for external nutrient inputs
and water management (FATIMA) H2020 project and researches conducted by
Ministry of of Food Agriculture and Livestock were discussed.
Technical visit to Urkmez Dam and
agricultural irrigation cooperative, also cultural trip to Ephesus Antique
Theatre were organized.
